Shivu G, an 8th-grade student at GMPS Koramangala, was known for his mischievous behavior in class. He would rarely sit quietly during lessons and was often disruptive, much to the frustration of his teachers. While Shivu had a natural interest in subjects, his laziness and reckless attitude often prevented him from focusing or making progress in his studies. Despite numerous attempts by teachers to manage his behavior, nothing seemed to work.
Turning Point: ICT STEM Lab Sessions
After attending several ICT STEM sessions, a noticeable shift began in Shivu’s behavior and learning approach. Initially still distracted, he gradually became more engaged as he interacted with the models, participated in discussions, and watched topic-related videos on the digital panel. The combination of hands-on activities and ICT-based visual content sparked his curiosity and helped him connect classroom concepts with real-world applications. These engaging sessions gave Shivu a sense of purpose and excitement, marking the beginning of his transformation from a disruptive student to an eager learner.
Transformation and Growth
This shift was significant for both Shivu and his teachers. Slowly but surely, Shivu began to calm down in class. He started to listen attentively and actively participate in discussions. This was the first step towards a positive change in his behavior. As the time passed, his involvement in STEM activities deepened. Shivu took the initiative to step forward and explain various models and projects, showcasing his newfound interest and confidence in the subject.
Achievements and Impact
Shivu’s involvement in the STEM Lab led to significant achievements and positive changes in his academic journey. His growing curiosity and confidence were evident as he began actively participating in class, explaining STEM models to peers, and initiating project discussions. A notable milestone was his participation in an interschool STEM exhibition. Although he did not win a prize, his willingness to step up and present his work in front of others was a huge personal success. This marked a major shift from his earlier disruptive behavior to becoming a focused, enthusiastic learner. The STEM Lab experience, supported by ICT tools and digital visual content, helped him improve not only in academics but also in essential life skills like communication, critical thinking, and responsibility.

Conclusion
By engaging Shivu in hands-on learning and encouraging him to explore his interests, the STEM lab provided him with an environment that nurtured his creativity, improved his behavior, and ignited a passion for learning. Shivu’s journey is a testament to the power of education and the potential for growth when students are given the right opportunities and support.
